this was june
The month June I can describe best as hot, hot, hot and slowing down. We had 2 weeks of uninterrupted rain and 2 weeks of heatwave. Talk about contrast! Maybe the longest heatwave the Netherlands ever had in consecutive days? The contrast was huge and it took some time getting used to. Because of these high temperatures, exercising was almost not existent this month. That also took some getting used to ;)
And I started with some new / old things again! I decided it was time to do something with my linocuts and illustrations again. And I found a great spot to start a new photo journal (made by a fellow bear blogger!).
june in highlights
✶ hello tattooThis month I had my tattoo appointment to fill my lower arm. I had a great day in Fleurs tattoo temple. It was a lovely experience, because we seem to have so much things in common! We had a great chat and I felt so at home with her and in her studio. In July we will finish my arm.
✶ moments.im
I was so thrilled I found moments.im this month! It's a website where you can make your own photo journal and see the photos from people all over the world. It's made in a way that it's social, but not with likes, a weird algorithm or with any pressure. Just sharing and a slow and intimate feeling. I love it! Come find me on there: MRMR.
✶ hot, hot, hot
I probably don't have to list it here to tell you again that it was HOT. But for future reference to remember how June really was (when I long forgot it), it was HOT! A 2 week heatwave with temperatures of 30+ degrees and in the night not cooling down lower than 24 degrees. I had a lot of days with headaches and some with migraines. But I survived and longed for autumn ;)
✶ vinted
It was also a good month for Vinted. I had a lot of great scores. You could even call it a streak! Sometimes there go by months without any luck and then boom, 10 items all at once. I also took the time again to clean out my closet and sell some things I wasn't using anymore.
✶ the doodle noodle
Visiting Fleur in her tattoo temple gave me the motivation to make a lino again (we talked a lot about making art). And I even decided to start up a new lino portfolio website: thedoodlenoodle.com. I want to motivate myself to start creating again and one way to do that is to fill my portfolio. So if you want to follow my art, here you can find my RSS feed.
details worth remembering
✏ this month I introduced D to an old school game: shooting marbles. so much fun to play it together.✏ I had to call in a pest control operator to remove the - still tiny - Asian hornet nest in our shed (thank god it's gone!).
✏ we celebrated Father's Day and the husband got a crafted gift from D, a Cotopaxi cap and a bike-mountians-beer shirt.
✏ with D I made a drinking bowl with marbles for the bees.
✏ dyed my hair brownish again, because I was done with the red.
✏ took almost 2 weeks off from hiking because of the heat.
