why I make goals every month
Every month I write about how my month was. To review my month and think about everything I did, experienced, read, listened to and so on. You can read all of my months in review here.
Every month I make goals that I want to accomplish. I write them down here on my blog so that I can keep myself accountable. If I don't write them down publicly and come back to them every month, I don't know if I would work on them like I do now.
Working with goals gives me the feeling of moving forward. Of accomplishing the things that I want to accomplish. At the end of the year I have a list of things I did. It's a great feeling knowing I didn't spent my year 'just doing something' without an idea.
Theres so many things you can do in your life. So many hobby's to try. So many places to visit. So many books to read. Working towards something gives me a feeling of spending my life in a useful way. Time here on earth is limited (worst case I'm already half way), and I want to spend it well. I don't want to feel like I've wasted my time when I'm 70. And I think I'm doing an okay job.
