week #9
My weekly will be a little different this week, because I want have a better overview on the exercises I do every week. So I'm tracking them here!
I hope I will get a bit more consistent with (physiotherapy) exercises! So I'm making you online accountability buddies ; )
monday
➜ it was the last spring holiday day off from school for D, so we tried to make it a good one! in the morning we watched a home cinema movie on the couch, Madagascar 3 (the last weeks she has been watching 1 and 2).➜ we biked to my sister to have lunch and catch up (because she couldn't be there at the Paw Patrol theatre on Sunday). I got good stuff from the bakery and we cuddled with our dog niece.
➜ our steam generator iron had to be sent in because of a recall. it has been there for over 2 weeks now, to get the boiler fixed. I am really missing it! ironing the laundry (with our old Tefal iron without steam) is taking me thrice as long and my body has to put in a lot more energy (I forgot how much work ironing is!). I'll be VERY happy when I have my steam iron here again!
➜ in the afternoon D and I made Gabby's Dollhouse figures with melty beads. D made pillow cat as a present for her friend from class, who is having her birthday next week. cute!
➜ we picked up one of the Vinted packages. it was the squirrels go nuts smart game for the daughter. I scored it for 1/5th of the store price. D wanted to play with it directly when we got home. and she loved it!
➜ when D was in bed, I continued with the melty beads and made some gnomes in fun colors. want to do a project with them: bringing them everywhere we go and make pictures of our traveling gnome. could be a fun project with D?
➜ while playing around with the melty beads at the living room table, the husband watched a documentary on the other side of the living room. so I watched a little bit with him. it was very interesting! minentaucher, about mine divers that work for the fire department - that means I can write down I've watched number 5 of 12 documentaries on my now page.

tuesday
➜ my day started early. at 7:45 I was already doing new exercises at the physio. because everything seems to be going well he just added 2 exercises. I will see him in 4 weeks instead of 1, that's a good sign!➜ when I got home I rested on the couch, read some blogs and looked up some things. I wrote a blog about missing the good old skating days. and then a gigantic hyperfocus hit me and I dove into a rabbit hole, searching for surfskate boards :' ) I lost track of time and 'woke up' 3 hours later.
➜ I still had a big pile of laundry that had to be ironed, but the dormant headache that I got up with was not unfolding into something big. I picked up the daughter from school and made sure she had something to do, so I could take a nap. after that it was a bit better. laundry is for another day!
➜ in the evening I decided I wanted to work on my lower back and hip muscles more too, because I have the idea they could use more strength. I signed up for a monthly subscription at the Dutch online physiotherapy website hierhebikpijn.nl. I added 12 week programs for lower back & hips, runners knee and piriformis syndrome. and a program for the area I (over)use at work, my upper back, neck & shoulders. let's see how it goes!
➜ after installing the physio app I did a lot of exercises, I was so motivated! and the rest of the evening that was left, I watched some German reality tv with the husband.

wednesday
➜ we slept a bit long today and were downstairs at 7:45, oops. dressing and breakfast was in turbo mode to not be too late at school. I dropped the daughter off and biked to my hairdresser. good to have a fresh haircut again!➜ ʕ•ɷ•ʔ⋆𖢔𖠰𖢔·⋆ hello sunshine! what a lovely day today! I had to think of cows that go out that first day in spring, after being inside all winter, jumping around :D I put on my new hiking shoes and went for a walk. the first 3km everything was fine, I was even walking a bit faster than my normal walking pace. but the last kilometer I felt the leg muscle that I'm training now (vastus lateralis). a sign that I still have to pace myself and be mindful of carefully building it up again.
➜ it was 17 degrees today, so I could keep the sliding door in the living room open. spring is coming!
➜ today I couldn't ignore the ginormous pile of laundry anymore, that I wanted to iron yesterday. today was the day I conquered it. and it took me 2 hours of ironing and half an hour to put everything in the closets. my legs were dead around 5 o'clock ʕ×_×ʔ

thursday
➜ I'm biking to work more again after going by car a bit more this winter. it feels good to get some early morning fresh air again! and I was also happy to notice biking feels a bit better for my knee.➜ the weather was great again today, so the store door was open all day. I could even sometimes get a whiff of the spring in the air. something I love every year!
➜ the workday was a bit quieter than our usual thursdays, but there was enough work to do!

friday
➜ the husband got me an unexpected gift and it's so cool! it's a karlsson cuckoo clock. the bird comes out every hour to sing us a song :D➜ friday evening the husband watched football and I searched the internet for a good beginners pilates set. I want to start doing regular pilates soon, because that would be a nice step up from the physio exercises.

saturday
➜ when I biked to work today, I noticed it was already a lot lighter outside (yay!). and I saw a cute bunny jump away. it was early so there was no one else around. I guess I startled him. it's rare I see bunnies or other floofy animals here!➜ the workday was incredibly busy. I started with my lunch break at 13:30h. a lot later than the usual 12 o'clock. and I was finished at 15:00h. not because I had a long break, but because customers kept coming in: take a bite, help a customer, take another bite, help a customer and so on... you can imagine I was happy when the weekend started! ;)
➜ D's friend F came by the store today and when she saw me, she gave me a big hug. so cute! we talked about arranging a new playdate soon, so that the girls can see each other again.
➜ the husband had a birthday party, so that meant an evening on the couch for me. I watched reality check: inside america's next top model and thought it was crazy!
➜ I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch at 21:30h, oops

sunday
➜ it's Sunday, which means family day. my body is tired from the busy Saturday workday yesterday, but we did manage to visit the zoo again. and there was sun!➜ a new ólafur arnalds album came out: sunrise sessions
➜ have been listening to an older dr dog song that I forgot about. fits the sunny spring weather!
➜ it took me some persuasion on my part to get D outside in the afternoon for a round on the scooter. but it worked! we made a round through the neighborhood and were scooting around for 20 minutes! my knee didn't even protest, yeah!
➜ Saturday evening I ordered a pilates set to get pilates training going. I received it today. it includes a pilates resistance bar, a bal, a ring and resistance bands. I will start on Monday with (hopefully) 2 pilates sessions every week.
