week #49

/ I started my week on a slightly less pleasant note... with a severe migraine attack.

/ so, for the first time, I've tried to see if the migraine responds positively to extra magnesium (a tip I found on the internet). I took an Epsom salt bath and a magnesium supplement. I can't say for sure whether it has really helped...

/ I did manage to open the first advent box in the HappyColor app on Monday, and colored the first advent drawing. something I'm trying to do every day this month.

/ on Tuesday, I could finally start with this year's physical advent calendars. yes! there's 12 puzzles in total in the Merry&Bright puzzle calendar, which means 3 puzzles a week. since I was happy to be back on my feet after the migraine, I did the first three right away!

/ and the Clipper tea advent calendar was also opened. I loved the packaging!

/ wednesday was the first day that I took my daughter to school myself and no longer walked around in sweatpants. I felt more like a human being again ; )

/ I worked on a fun task: I started on the annual photo album. it's currently filled with months January till November and has 54 pages, oops!

/ on Friday evening after work, I still had some energy left to do a Qi Gong class, what?! my new teacher has an app that allows me to play the class on the TV (instead of a smaller tablet or laptop screen). virtually in Canada, so cool!

/ the Pantone color for 2026 was announced and it triggered all kinds of feelings in me. mainly a lot of resistance ; ) #sorrynotsorry I was secretly getting a little scared. where are we all headed? to beige interiors (we're already there), to white-gray-beige-black clothing (we're already there too) and no more color, everything is becoming more flat, boring, and above all, completely unexciting... I am seriously concerned that color will no longer be appreciated because we have collectively forgotten its value.

/ Nienke's newsletter echoed my feelings of resistance to the color white, and this time it was full of things that I've also noticed lately. she hits the nail on the head! definitely worth reading (for Dutchies)!

/ the colors by number advent was going well this week, I managed to color every day.

/ the second advent candle was lit on Sunday and the Madam Stolz brass wreath that I've been waiting for, for weeks was also delivered. the wreath was finally complete! and I enjoyed looking at it during dinner.

/ on Sunday, we built the annual gingerbread house and I have to say, it gets more fun every year!
