week #47
/ last week's temperature: around 18 degrees. this week's temperature: around 6 degrees. my winter coat is officially out of the closet! #winteriscoming
/ continuing on the topic of weather: hailstorm ✔ rain shower (x4) ✔ first time scraping ice off the car windows ✔
/ on Tuesday, I was sitting in the dentist's chair to see what we were going to do with my molar — the one that had root canal treatment 15 years ago and root tip surgery one year ago. the initial plan was to open it up again and repair a possible fracture (I was already dreading a third attempt). since the inflammation kept coming back, it was decided on the spot to just pull it. surgeon: “when would you like to schedule the apointment? do you maybe have time... now?” I was in the hospital for less than 10 minutes for a checkup, anesthesia, and extraction... and was outside in no time, with one tooth less! I hope I can now close the chapter on my troublesome molar ; )
/ it was on hold for a while, but this week I started updating my photo blog again. the years 2015 to 2021 still need to be moved (what a job!).
/ on Wednesday, I came back from the hairdresser and wanted to get on my bike... flat tire! luckily, there's a bike repair shop in the village. I took it there right away, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because I actually had to go there for the annual service anyway and was able to schedule it for the next day. the annual service is the kind of thing I keep putting off during the busy fall season.
/ this week, I was twiddling my thumbs for a family member who was in the hospital.
/ for the first time in my life, I tried a vegan steak, the one from Planted. and damn, it was delicious! it's been 20 years since I last ate meat, but even with only a vague memory of real meat, I'd say it's pretty close to the real deal!
/ at work th preparations began for all of this year's Advent wreaths. more and more were bought in and delivered to the shop. and I also started on our wreath at home. I brought home a candle holder and some beautiful Danish Ester&Erik candles in rust colored. I spent an entire evening finding materials to decorate it.
/ puzzle 11 of this year was completed. it had a Christmas theme: Cornucopia by Elena Essex. only one more puzzle to go!
/ early Saturday morning, I cycled to work in -4 degrees Celsius. first time this year! #winterishere ; )
/ I watched quite a few series, finishing the entire first season of Palm Royale and Platonic. both I can recommend.
/ due to my tooth recovery and being busy, I didn't do a single qi gong class this week.
/ win of the week: I scored a super cute letter rack for very little money. it's going to be a birthday gift for the daughter. so she can start practicing letters and words. even though it's a bit early for that ; )
/ on Sunday, we had a very cozy day unwrapping gifts, went to see the Paw Patrol Christmas movie at the cinema, and having coffee and chocolate cake at our favorite coffee roasting café.
