week #32

➜ on Monday D and I had another craft project and made this littleartistsroom snake.
➜ the lump on my right index finger doubled in size in just one day, so I was happy I had a doctors appointment on Tuesday to finally figure out what to do with this.
➜ the doctor told me after examining me, I had to count on something rheumatic. but he left the blood testing and pictures to rheumatology in september. he sent me home with painkillers to get through the next 30 days.
➜ I learned a lot about inflammatory flares and started wearing compression gloves. after some days of wearing them every night, I started to feel a positive difference in stiffness and pain.
➜ on Wednesday I worked my last shift before we had our annual summer vacation at the store. after work we met up with all colleagues + partners and kids for a drink at the brewery.
➜ in the evening I packed my suitcases for my weekend citytrip. oh how I was looking forward to this!
➜ on Thursday morning I traveled to Eindhoven. I booked a nice hotel until Sunday and had a full program with: walking around the city, going to a museum, making a lot of linocuts, seeing a movie in the cinema and a bit of shopping and resting.
➜ every year during my solo trip, I keep a tradition. I go to a photobooth and get my picture taken. that's what I also did this year!
➜ after arriving on Thursday, I first wanted to see the city. I did a little bit of shopping and walked around a lot. I went to the art shop and bought new paper and had sushi for dinner. I was very happy my room had a bath (what a surprise, I didn't even see this when booking the room), so I took a long hot bath. it was exactly what my body needed ♡
➜ on Friday I visited the van abbemuseum. but before I went there I made my first print: van abbemuseum. of course I brought it with me to photograph ; )
➜ Saturday morning I made my second print: lichttoren. Eindhoven is famous for the company Philips and it's lightbulbs.
➜ I visited one of my favorite shops, the scenery shop and bought new laptop stickers.
➜ in the afternoon I went to LAB-1, the arthouse cinema of the city. it's very old, but so cozy! see here. I saw the christophers.
➜ on Sunday I had my last breakfast in the hotel restaurant and after I packed my suitcases and got ready to go home. but I still had 2 hours left to do something. so I decided to make 1 last print: st. catharinakerk.
➜ I left my suitcases at the hotel to have one last lunch and a stroll through the city. around 3 I was kind of done (I was tired, it was warm), so a good time to head home.
➜ D and the husband were waiting for me at the train station and I was so happy to see them again! it's true, if you don't see a 5 year old for a couple of days, they look so much more grown!
➜ I had such a lovely time and I really like the combination of citytrip, new surroundings and working on prints, that I want to do this next year again. I LOVED it. and even though it was quite the pain in the *ss to travel with 2 suitcases - of which the one with all the lino tools was 30kg or so, haha - I wouldn't have done it differently.
