week #30
➜ D was still at her sleepover at the grandparents in Germany on Monday, so I could start the week with an early morning weight lifting session.
➜ at 10 I went up to the studio to work on my half-timbered houses. and I made the first prototype of a new shaped card.
➜ I worked in my studio the whole day until 7 in the evening and loved every second of it! it was so long ago since I had a whole day to create and be in my bubble. I worked on a second print, a remake of an old print I did 10 years ago. of one of my favorite buildings in The Netherlands: the inntel hotel in zaandam. you can see more prints on my website.
➜ on Tuesday I had my second appointment at Fleurs tattoo temple to finish my arm. this time we just needed half a day and it was completely done, yay!
➜ after my appointment I picked up the daughter from her weekend and I was so happy to see her! she looked so much more grown up after a couple of days away.
➜ on Wednesday I had a day with D and we decided we wanted to go on an adventure, with the public transport. so we took a bus to a neighboring town (that is very touristic), had handmade ice cream at the most famous spot in town and walked around a bit. it was a lovely day that felt like vacation!
➜ on Friday we got some disturbing news about an incident at the after school daycare D went to (that I’m still processing to be honest).
➜ on Saturday we packed the car and drove up North for a small vacation. we booked a super cute tiny house in the Hoge Veluwe area. and I was really looking forward to some family time!
➜ we arrived in the evening, had dinner at the park restaurant and explored the playground. D was very happy she could sleep ‘in the roof’ (her bed was on a mezzanine and only reachable by ladder).
➜ in the evening we sat on the porch until 11 and I started in a new book the unplugged hours (and made another attempt to dumb down my phone again - instagram and proton mail apps off my phone and just reachable by browser). it’s already made a difference!
➜ on Sunday the weather report was not great, so we drove to an indoor pool and spent a few hours swimming there. we’re definitely a swimmers family and it was really nice to try a different pool that is not our usual pool hangout. it was a very nice first full day of vacation!
my inner life this week…
➜ I looked up variations of ‘how does starting rheumathoid look on hands’ or ‘is it rheumathoid or osteoarthritis’ too many times this week. it’s time to make that doctors appointment…➜ I had the after school daycare incident play over and over in my head and had a lot of angryness in me that I had a hard time dealing with.
➜ I was happy we had a weekend away planned so my head had something different to think about.
➜ and I was very happy we had some quality family time and moments where I could just look at D and felt so happy, lucky and privileged to have her and my little family.
