week #12

monday

➜ just like last week, my Monday started a bit slow. I slept until 7 and only showered after everyone left the house. my body was still a bit tired from the Sunday before.

➜ my morning consisted mainly of resting and doing some research in what sports watch to get. I found one winner that I will order soon, the garmin vivoactive 6.

➜ after cleaning the house a little bit, I watched louis theroux: inside the manosphere while having lunch.

➜ around 2 I picked up D from school. we first watched her daily cartoon and biked to the municipality to go for round number 2 trying to get D her new ID. this time it worked, the lady at the counter accepted the new picture directly, without checking it with the sample template. glad it worked! also had to measure D and she's 110 cm now :D

➜ when we were finished at the municipality, we brought my parents a visit to eat the leftover cake from yesterday. we stayed an hour and were home to start dinner.

➜ in the evening we watched our German reality show and I went to bed on time.

tuesday

➜ opening a new pack of my cloud+ skin supplement means I have been taking them for exactly one month now. my mid-term review for now: my overall skin is a bit less irritated. I only get little pimples when it's that time in my cycle. but the subcutaneous inflammations in my neck are still there (but less of them). they might need some more time to disappear. so far so good! but I hope the last remains will still dissapear.

➜ while walking to school, D accidentally drove into my ankle with her balance bike. the bolt of her wheel smashed into my ankle bone and it hurt so much my eyes teared up automatically. ouch. during walking, I could feel my ankle swelling up. hope this doesn't influence my hiking!

➜ first thing when I got home, was trying my first weight lifting exercise. just 20 minutes with not too heavy starter weights to get used to it. hopefully a nice change from the pilates bar with resistance bands.

➜ at home I read up on some more research about exercise to finetune my weekly routine. I made a new routine that hopefully fits a bit better. starting with that next week!

➜ and I gave all my sports related blogs a place under practices.

➜ when picking up D from school, she wanted to have a playdate with classmate L. they went to L's house and I had some time to do the laundry at home in peace.

➜ around 4 I picked her up again. we made a bike trip through our town to bring and pick up some packages. while biking up the hills I felt my legs and knees protesting. not so great!

➜ I tried to bike a little after cooking and bringing D to bed. but it was very unsuccessful. my legs felt like they couldn't take a lot and were a bit straining with even the slowest pace and lower setting on the bike. a clear sign that I did enough for today! time for resting.

➜ with the husband I watched our German reality show again and went to bed very early. around 9:30 I was in bed, because I felt like getting a stuffed nose. hope I'm not getting sick! and hopefully the sleeping early will make it better so that I can go on a slow walk tomorrow morning.

wednesday

➜ oofff I was sore when I got up. but I put on my hiking clothes anyway, because there was a recovery hike on the plan today.

➜ today was also the day for voting for the local elections. after bringing D to school we drove to the community center in town and voted. the husband went to work after and I started my hike.

➜ it was a lovely morning with a lot of sun and it was around 10 degrees. perfect hiking weather! I walked 4.5 km and snapped some nice pictures.

➜ before picking up D from school, I had lunch in the garden and watched a new show on Netflix, age of attraction.

➜ D made playdate plans at a classmates home, so I could walk home again. the extra time I had, I spent searching for what plants we could add to our front yard this garden season. we really have to make our front yard nicer, it's a mix of different plants that is a bit disorganized.

➜ in the evening I started with a fitness shopping list where I added all the things to that I hope/wish to add to our fitness attic in the future. a dumbbell set, kettlebells, a squat wedge block, yoga blocks, wrist weights,

thursday

➜ Thursday morning I had the feeling the cold was coming through, oh nooo. so I decided not to bike to work, but drive with the husband. luckily, I got through the workday quite okay.

➜ it was lovely weather outside and I had several moments where I could smell spring and warmth in the air. I wanted to go outside and hike so badly!

➜ the workday went by very fast. lot's of things to do and fun talks with the colleagues.

➜ we had pizza evening, the only unhealthy thing that I eat nowadays. tasted gooood.

➜ I had some headspace left for exercising. during my break at work I found a lot of fitness profiles on Insta. I saved their exercise videos to use. my favorite so far is sara cardioballet. I tried two of her videos and it was fun! something I will add to my routine every week.

➜ there was still some time left to enjoy my evening and I did that with the husband on the couch, watching the latest season of shrinking. I had to laugh out loud with some jokes, love this show!

friday

➜ hooray, today I found out I fit in my old jeans again! the last 2 years I gained weight and had to get rid of a lot of clothes because they were too small. now that I'm exercising more, I am starting to see results in clothing size. a small (big) win that feels really good!

➜ I got a big hospital bill from last year, when they pulled my tooth #ouch

saturday

➜ last workday of the week today! the day was okay, not very busy, but I had enough tasks to do. the weather was also nice, so I guess most people were out!

➜ D had her 2nd swimming lessons and played the whole morning and afternoon at her friends place. my parents picked her up and brought her home. so when I arrived home after work, I could talk to everyone a bit.

➜ while D was winding down from a busy day on the couch, I rearranged her room a bit. she saw a pippi longstockings episode a few weeks ago, where pippi slept in her bed the 'wrong' way, with her feet on her pillow. she saw that and wanted that too, and has been sleeping that way in her bed for some days now. she loves it so much, that I put her nightstand in a different spot and arranged things a bit different. when going to bed she said 5 times how much she loves it! it's the little things I guess?

➜ the husband was at fussball, so I made us easy egg dinner like my grandma always made on Sunday mornings: onions, sweet tomatoes and stirred egg on toast. hmmmm.

➜ when the husband was home again, we watched peaky blinders: the immortal man.

sunday

➜ I was looking forward to seeing the mailman today, because he would deliver my new garmin watch! it came just in time before we wanted to leave the house.

➜ it was sunny today and around 14 degrees, so I had to go out! after a quiet morning, we drove to a parking spot a few towns over, to go for a walk. it's a very nice area to go for walks in nature, through fields where you can walk along a river.

➜ we made a 2-3 km walk with D and for the first time this year, that was far enough ;) at the parking spot is a big ice cream stall in spring, summer and early fall where you can get ice cream (duh), coffee and fresh fruit. it's VERY popular amongst the tourists here, so there's always a huge line. but it was lovely to sit in the sun and enjoy the pretty views here. I grew up around here, but it's so different now that I'm an adult. it's a different level of appreciation for our green hilly surroundings.

➜ at home we tried another round of biking for D. she learned to bike last May, but hasn't biked a lot since. well, not at all actually. she knows how to do it, but a bit of practice would be good. so we made 2 rounds. D biking and the husband helping her, me following on the scooter. she even managed to start all by herself, the only thing she didn't learn last time. yay!

➜ the rest of the afternoon and evening was for relaxing. I did my 20 min physio biking and watched the rise of the red hot chili peppers: our brother, hillel.
