I have no idea where all this motivation came from to be so sporty all of a sudden. but I'm trying to go full in and enjoy it while it lasts. I hope I can form some sort of routine now that I can stick to!
the schedule I'm trying to keep now:
2-3 mornings (beginner) pilates for stronger core & muscle stretching
1 hike with weighted vest for more endurance & to get stronger
4 times physiotherapy exercises for runners knee & sciatica
3 times indoor biking -

today I got the verdict; the recovery of my knee is going to take approximately 3 months. this time is needed to see if the exercises are working for my body.
so I made the decision to pause my qi gong subscription for now. the physio told me he thought that was commendable and a smart choice I made, because not everyone is so 'easy' with pausing their sports to recover. *in my head I thought; me neither! ;) but what has to happen, has to happen.
now I'm on the lookout for an exercise bike. I have to start biking daily for 20 minutes. that makes me already feel a lot better than last week, when I didn't have any exercise at all!

apparently the knee taping before work on Saturday has worked! I haven't had real bad pain since. the 3km walk on Sunday morning was not pain free. it was mostly other areas that were aching (the hips and lower back mostly), the knee was still okay-ish. I'm trying to be mindful of how I get up, how I sit (not crossed legged), what shoes I wear and that sort of thing. everything to find out where it's really coming from and how I can make it better fast. it's a journey!

you know what I love about (bear) blog so much? that you can write, do, design or use capitals and punctuation on your own blog in the way that you like it. because it's your blog, your home, a place where you should feel good.

oops, I was editing my layout and completely fucked up my blog. but after way too long, I got it up and running again. not completely the same, but it will do! and while working on it anyway, I added a new look for my blog lists.

a visit to the physiotherapist today made clear what the pain in my knee is causing... it's a runner's knee (patellofemoral pain syndrome). kind of a funny injury for someone who never ever runs ; ) just a little sad that I have to pause my qi gong practice to give my knee a rest.

the older I get, the more I'm searching for softness. softness in music (sometimes). softness in appearance, by changing my mascara from black to brown. softness in trying to be soft and kind to myself. trying to find softness in my body, during my qi gong classes (wu wei).

watching younger and jumping on the rebounder in the living room right now. I'm so happy it's working to slowly incorporate this in my weekly schedule. and I don't even have to motivate myself to do it. because it's so much fun!

I'm really loving the vivaldi browser! I'm using it for a few days now and what I love is: the taskbar on the left with notes and rss reader. especially the notes come in handy for storing ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ code I daily use for my posts!
the only thing that could use an update, is the translation tool. it's not that accurate. but I'm using all the other functions daily. -

in the middle of magnesium treatment and there's some things happening: I'm sleeping very good (thumbs up), but I need A LOT more time to wake up in the morning (thumbs down). It's hard getting out of bed... let's see if that changes.

another try listening to an audiobook. for me that means either 2 things:
1 ) when I listen and not do anything else at the same time: I fall asleep or get bored.
2 ) when I listen and do other things at the same time: I drift and end up missing parts and not listening at all.
is there a way to do this properly? what is the secret technique I apparently don't have? ;) -

at the parent-teacher evening tonight, we felt like kindergarteners again! we crawled into the skin of our own kindergartner, to be precise! the teachers let us experience what our children do and learn at school. we played math games, the teacher read a book at the storytelling table, and we had a lesson in writing. so much fun!
