a kick in the butt...

Sunday check-in... And a kick in the but for me ;)

On Monday I got a big migraine that I still haven't fully recovered from today. I have been very tired every day this week. The kind of tired that doesn't go away with more rest.

I didn't train that much this week (because I changed my exercise routine and added more rest days). Because I felt like I was on the path to overtraining maybe? On Thursday evening I did the CeeCee lift challenge. It felt better than the first day of the new routine (this was the second day), and I wasn't very sore after. But this morning... oh boy. I felt like I was hit by a truck again. And the same migraine pattern from last week seemed to repeat itself. So I took quick action with medication to not let it grow too big. A good choice, because I survived the day with 'just' a headache.

That made me think... My watch has been telling me the whole week that my HRV is very low. And that's also how I'm feeling; quite shitty for 2 weeks now. So something has to change! More rest days in between training are a start, but I have the feeling I have to dial down even more....

so I'm focussing on rest

➜ The coming week I will put a reminder on my phone every evening at 21:30 that it's time to go to bed. I want to get more sleep and be very strict about it. Also, no more phone checking before bed!

➜ For at least 1 whole week I will only go for hikes. No more lifting the next 7 days, no rucking... just plain old walking. A little break from all sports will hopefully do my body some good.

➜ I will focus more on hydration and will try to get 1.5 - 2 liters of water in every day.
