qi gong practice
In an ideal world, I would practice qi gong every day. But I know this is something that is very hard to accomplish. I would like to, but life gets in the way sometimes.
One of my intentions for 2026 is to keep at least a regular qi gong practice. I want to make it a habit to do a minimum of 2 lessons a week. Four or five would be better. Daily would be incredible!
I know from years of doing lessons that it's all a process. It all goes in waves. Sometimes I'm on a wave where practicing is light and easy and it doesn't take any effort. And other times it's a struggle to even do 1 lesson a week. I try not to beat myself up about it and just ride the waves. Trust that I will pick it up again.
I want to make qi gong something I will always fall back to, when life gets a bit harder. Because I know it helps me physically and mentally. I want it to be something I can easily pick up again, when I've missed some days. I wish for it to be more constant.
I want to learn to make it a priority. To make it so important, that I will push other things to the side to do my practice. It's just 15 or 30 minutes every lesson. I want to learn to not directly jump on the couch in the evening, when it was a hard day. To not let the thoughts of 'I'm too tired to practice' directly get in the way.
I just have to find a way to accomplish that... I don't want to be too strict on myself. Because I'm afraid I might loose interest. But I have to remind myself to practice and be a little strict. Otherwise I will choose couch > practice on some (a lot of?) days ;)
Just some thoughts that pop in my head:
➜ Would it help to keep myself accountable on my blog, and write down every week how many lessons I did?
➜ Would it help to cross off a daily challenge for one month, to really get into the habit?
How do you guys work on your (daily) practice or habit to make it stick?
