photo apps I use

I’ve been getting some questions about what apps I use for my photos. So I thought, why not make a blog post about it?

The last years I've been cutting down the number of apps I use. I deleted all my social media profiles and I'm trying to only have a few essential apps that I regularly use.

editing

For editing my pictures I either use the built in editor for iPhone. Or VSCO. VSCO has hundreds of filters to use, so in my opinion a fun app if you want to play around with that. I have my standard filter that I use every time. A filter that enhances just a tiny little bit, but leaves all colors as true to reality as possible.

collage

In the past I used canva a lot to frame pictures together or make something like a collage. Since my bear blog is less focussed on pictures, I'm not using that a lot anymore. The only thing I still do, is add a white border to my photo a day pictures. This is something that I can do with VSCO.

The only app that I still use to sometimes make a collage with, is inshot. The app has a lot more features, even video. But I've never used it. If you want to quickly put some photos together, it's a great app!

sharing

Sharing pictures is something I seldomly still do. Without any social profiles, there is not really a way to do that. Except for the app retro. This is the only (sort of) social app that I still allow myself to use.

Posting on there falls in the category 'slow'. It's more of a private online photobook than a social platform. So there's no distractions or doomscrolling opportunities. It's just posting a daily photo in your weekly 'book'. And you can see the occasional picture of your friends. But not in an addictive way like endless scrolling on Instagram, for example.
