how I keep my photos
One thing I really loving doing, is making pictures. I try to regularly take pictures of the things I do, of my family members, of our outings. Sometimes of the outfits I wear or the items in our house. Just to document them so I can look back later on what my life was before.
I grew up in the 80s, at a time the digital camera was just coming up. That means my childhood was captured on film and my parents kept analogue photo albums.
When I started to shoot pictures myself, I first had a simple 35mm Kodak camera. And later switched to digital. That also meant I had to find a way to keep my photos.

saving my pictures
For digitally saving my pictures I use MEGA. This is a cloud storage service with high security and zero-knowledge encryption. For that reason I chose this service. And for the amount of free gigs you can start with (20G).
My dad took it on him some time ago to digitalize all our childhood analogue pictures. It's good to know that I have a spot for all pictures, where nothing can hurt them. They can't get lost, the can't get wet or burned. The thought that I always have this digital backup gives me peace.

photo books
What I love about my childhood albums, is that I can always get them out and flip through them whenever I want. It's just not the same with digital photos. It's not something you can hold in your hands and it has a complete different feel. So besides storing all my pictures digitally in the cloud, I also print yearly photobooks. There's a lot of services online where you can easily make books and get them printed. The service I've been using for years, is Pixum.

physical photos of the daughter
Since our daughter is born, the amount of photos I take every month went way up. From a monthly maximum of 50 photos pre kid, to an average of 200-300 pictures a month with kid.Just keeping them digitally is not that fun, so I use klikkie. This is a Dutch website where I have a monthly subscription to get my photos printed. They deliver to all EU countries and the UK.

I love the first of the month, because that means new Klikkie pictures! I get a black envelope in the mail with my carefully selected photos. I store them in a photobox, labeled per year. When the daughter is bigger and will get an interest in her childhood pictures, I have something physical to show her ♡
